Dr. Rahima Benhabbour is co-Founder and Director of Anelleo, Inc. At UNC Chapel Hill, Dr. Benhabbour is a tenured Associate Professor in the UNC-NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering with a secondary appointment in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She is an inventor on 6 patents and the recipient of multiple grants and awards, e.g., the Alexander R. Matzuk Award, the CRS Member of the Year Award, the CRS Young Investigator Award, the David Sokal Innovation Award, the BME Faculty Research Award, and an Eshelman Institute for Innovation Award. Rahima received a Ph.D. in organic/polymer chemistry at McMaster University (Canada), a MS in medicinal organic chemistry at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), and her BS in polymer engineering from the Algerian Petroleum Institute (Institut Algerien du Petrol, IAP, Algeria).
